On May 21, 2023, JewishJoy.co participated in the Solomon Schechter Day School (SSDS) Craft Fair in West Hartford, CT. A portion of the proceeds from all craft fair sales was donated to Jewish Family Services (JFS) of Greater Hartford.
This was the first pop-up event that JewishJoy.co had ever attended (we launched online in March 2023) so it took some trial and error throughout the day to figure out how to best display our different product types. We also had to navigate challenges like strong wind knocking things over and some minor customer damage to a few fragile art pieces that were not intended to be repeatedly handled.
It was great to see the positive reaction to our products from the community members at the craft fair and that so many event guests wanted to interact with our items, but for our next event we will rethink bringing some of the one of a kind items.
Those art pieces might be better featured in an indoor gallery setting on podiums or hung on the wall, so that they can be properly appreciated and protected. Hamsas of Munkatch took note of the customer feedback and will be reinforcing their art pieces with resin coatings or acrylic cases to ensure that they are more durable!
November 7th: Stamford JCC Craft Fair
December 10th: West Hartford - Mandell JCC Craft Fair
The success of our first pop-up craft event was only possible thanks to the assistance from family members who helped with planning preparations, setup and day-of support working the table, and transportation.
Those of us there that day proudly wore our Boker Tov hats to stay safely out of the sunshine and market the products while experiencing our own #JewishJoy!
