Tissue Box | Wood Print
Artist Channan Tzvi (Kenny) of Hamsas of Munkatch believes in the power of the built environment and our physical surroundings to inspire our connection to the Jewish culture.
It may seem unusual to have a tissue box decorated with symbols of Hamsas, Evil Eyes, and Stars of David - but the more we expose ourselves to these elements of our heritage the more likely we are to deeply embrace them, and other similar traditions.
To make these tissue boxes, images were taken of original sculptures made by the artist and transferred onto custom wood forms handcrafted by a family of artisans in Indiana, USA. The brush strokes and uneven paint along the edges is intentional so that you appreciate the human element of each piece.
Each piece is finished with a protective coating and fits a standard square size box of tissues.
